Rainbows & Kisses came about as my beautiful autistic daughter and i started sending each other rainbows & kisses emojis to help us through a difficult time when her mother decided to leave the family... after about 6 months i realized that i had to write this song, so i embarked upon this journey and i wrote many different lyrical and musical versions... almost immediately i realized that all were too heavy being weighed down by the gravity of the situation, so i sought out my friend and collaborator to get some ideas about what i could do lyrically… he suggested some beautiful pathways and we started putting the lyrics together… it was a beautiful concerted effort and we came up with a lyric that i think really captures the observational insights that a single father might have for his autistic daughter as she grows up in this modern world…
